The "Republic of Singapore" to give it it's official title, is an island city-state located off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, sometimes referred to as the "little red dot", due to it's size, it is depicted as just that on many world maps, or the "Lion City" although it is most unlikely that lions of any persuasion ever lived here, other than in the Singapore Zoo!.
Along with so many other countries in this region, it would be very easy to give it a miss!. And to many people, they may not not even hear about this small island nation which occupies a total land area of just over 700 square kilometers or just 270 square miles!.
But to miss out on visiting Singapore, would truly be to miss out on one of the world's finest travel destinations, a city that may be small in size, but more than compensates for that in friendliness, hospitality & culinary excellence.
